The following were noted at the most recent meeting of the Student Association Feb. 22.SA Parliamentarian Jonathan Stewart introduced a bill to the senate to create a committee to handle club appeal approvals.
President Patrick McAnaney introduced a bill to clarify the SA General Election timeline. Find this spring's election results here.
Sid Richardson College Senator Angela Wu updated the senate on her project with the Center for Student Professional Development and the University Court. The CSPD is reaching out to the student body by creating a new Web site and offering more instructional events. U-Court does not have a Web site or any contact information online. There is no mention of U-Court on the Judicial Affairs Web site.
Wiess College Senator Rachel Liontas and the Wiess New Student Representatives are creating a "Getting Around Houston" guide for students. Additionally, they want to create a Web site that students can use to find information off campus. They hope to eventually create a "Find a Roommate" online board, Liontas, a Wiess junior, said.
Coffeehouse Interim General Manager Erin Rouse announced Coffeehouse's bid for the Brochstein Pavilion through a presentation of Coffeehouse's history and reforms since its founding.
The SA will next meet at 9 p.m. in the Farnsworth Pavilion on Monday, March 8.

Rice football has hired Scott Abell as the program’s 20th head coach, according to an announcement from director of athletics Tommy McClelland, who led a national search to fill the position.
Local Foods launches in newly renovated Brochstein space
Local Foods Market opened at Brochstein Pavilion Nov. 19, replacing comfort food concept Little Kitchen HTX. The opening, previously scheduled for the end of September, also features interior renovations to Brochstein. Local Foods is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
Scan, swipe — sorry
Students may need to swipe their Rice IDs through scanners before entering future public parties, said dean of undergraduates Bridget Gorman. This possible policy change is not finalized, but in discussion among student activities and crisis management teams.
