Rice retained its No. 5 spot in the ranking of overall best college in America from Niche.com, which considers both quantitative numbers and student reviews. It ranked No. 10 for best value.

According to Niche, this year's rankings more highly weighted value, which considers factors like average net price, retention and graduation rate, and post-graduation salary.

Rice is led by the same four schools, in order from top: Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale University, and Harvard University.

This is the second year for the Niche ranking, and the full methodology can be read here.
