Us makes horror a relatable experience

As a general rule, I normally avoid watching trailers because there is nothing quite like walking into a film and just letting everything about it take me by surprise. I would recommend that for a horror film like Jordan Peele’s Us, because the horror comes from the element of surprise.

Roy Wood Jr. and Jaboukie Young-White are correspondents for the self proclaimed “World’s Fakest News Team,” The Daily Show. Wood has served as a correspondent for this late night news satire show since 2015 and often tackles race-related issues.

‘Harverd Dropout’ disappoints with obnoxious dissonance

Between the hyper-synthetic style of his production and saturated doses of immaturity, tracks on Harverd Dropout adopt a Fun Dip-like quality, far too sugary and overcolored for consumption. The Ronny J-produced “Vroom Vroom Vroom” is nearly two minutes’ worth of car sound effects.

Comedian and alum Matthew Broussard returns

Comedian Matthew Broussard (Jones ’10) had his homecoming in front of a packed house in the Wiess commons Thursday night. Raised in Georgia, Broussard spent most of his time at Rice focusing on his computational and applied mathematics major and filling in electives with mechanical engineering courses.
