New Sid Rich building on track for 2021 completion

By the spring semester of 2021, the new Sid Richardson College building will be completed and ready for use, according to Grant Wilkinson, head of the Sid New Building Committee. The building will occupy the space from the current Will Rice College Magister house to Seibel Servery, Wilkinson said.

New center, minor connect data and students

A new data center will support the creation of the new data science minor and provide students with learning experiences in data science, while enhancing data-intensive research at Rice University and building partnerships with outside organizations, according to Genevera Allen, founder and faculty director.

​Registrar removes waitlists after first week

ESTHER waitlists were removed after the first week of classes, with the exception of courses with FSEM, LPAP and COLL subject codes, although instructors could opt into keeping their waitlists open through the second week, according to the University Registrar David Tenney.

After year of lunch shuttle, ridership remains low

The Rice Village lunch shuttle celebrated its one-year anniversary of providing students and staff with access to off-campus lunch options on Sept. 26. Rice University Transportation Manager Elizabeth Gbordzoe said ridership has increased, though it remains lower than other shuttle services.
