KTRU outdoor show highlights local acts

In celebration of the 25th annual KTRU Outdoor Show this Saturday, the Rice University central quad between the Rice Memorial Center and Herring Hall will be transformed into a festival of live music, beer and food. The KTRU Outdoor Show is an annual all-day music fest that features both n’ational and local acts.

Houston concertgoers craving an authentic live music experience will be pleased with the latest addition to the local concert scene, the White Oak Music Hall, which celebrated its inauguration on Saturday, April 9 with French indie-electronic outfit M83.

The best TV you will watch all year: Four series to binge watch

Let me begin with this disclaimer: I watch a lot of TV. When people ask me, “Have you seen this show?” And I have, I try to brush it off casually, as in “Oh, I have passively watched a few episodes, but I definitely didn’t see the entire three seasons in one binge session on Saturday night, when I should have been socializing, or eating or otherwise experiencing life outside my bed.” But I’m coming clean.

Rice welcomes annual student art show

Transitioning from the safe, comfortable classroom setting to a job in the real world is tough for all students, but especially for artists who plan to market their work professionally. They not only have to invent original, relevant ideas for independent projects, but they also have to learn how to successfully curate their work.
